Hurricane damage restoration WTJX-FM/HD

After extensive damage by Hurricanes Irma and Maria, WTJX retained McGuire Broadcast to help in the process of restoring and upgrading our transmission facilities. The WTJX transmitter site located at Mountain Top on St Thomas VI, at 1492 feet above sea level, provides critical news and information for this area of the Caribbean as both a PBS member television station and an NPR member radio station.

Working at this isolated location during a pandemic compounded by parts shortages presented difficulties. McGuire Broadcast worked closely with WTJX to navigate parts delays and scheduling to complete the scope of work including an HD Radio upgrade.
